i hate when your driving and then you get there and your fav song comes on

i hate when your trying to get a parking spot after you've driven around twice and then you see a spot and another car takes it two seconds before you

i hate when i would study for a test and i didn't do as good as when i did study

i hate when you go to the store to buy something and there out of it

i hate when you wait cuz you think its too expensive, then the price goes up

i hate when you listen to a song on the radio thats just ok and then you change the station and its your fav song, but at the very end

i hate that you're too lazy to try something on so you just buy it hoping it fits…it doesnt

thankful list

so last week i meant to blog about what im thankful for...

-my good hair and my fast metabolism

no but really..

-freedom- i love that we live in a country that fights for our freedom. i just got done reading THE HELP a little while ago and it made me appreciate more of what women, blacks, and other nationalities had to go through to get to where we are today.

-scriptures- ive been reading them everyday and have learned so much

my testimony- nobody can ever take what i believe away from me

mo- my cat- i love her so much. yesterday i was thinking about her life. i mean before i adopted her she was living in a little cage for a few months and then the people before her i dont thnk they treated her very well. yesterday it was raining so i let her go outside for a few minutes to enjoy the outside. i knew she wouldnt go very far cuz of the rain. when we was outside she had this look like your actually letting me do this. haha

my family and friends- the ones i can always count on when i need them

my job- that allows me to pay the bills and allows me to travel the world slowly haha

overall im grateful for everything that i have. im grateful for the church and the experiences that help me grow and make me who i am today. im grateful for the good people in my life. im grateful for the small things like my bed, toliet paper, lights, good food, the simple things we take for grated everyday to make this life a little easier.

why i am cool...haha

so at work me and some of the people i work with have contests and ask the kids who the coolest is? haha

here are ten reasons why it is usually me haha

1- you ask this one boy who is bff is and he will tell you its me. then you ask him what bff is and he says best friends forever.

2- another boy told me how im his favorite so i told him to tell his dad. so the next day his dad came up to me and told me how i was his favorite and i was like oh really. thanks hahah

3- another boys mom is pregnant and he told the doctor that he wanted the name the baby ms. melissa, not just melissa, but ms. melissa

4- one of the girls calls me her sister and you ask her why and she'll say cuz we look alike.

5- another boy you ask him if im cooler than him and he said yeah. then i asked him if i was cooler than his mom and he said yeah and my dad too. haha

6- i am up on a childs fridge at home

7- one of the parents told me that her child was my son- haha- but im like part of their fam basically so its funny

8- so many parents tell me that their kids told them that i was their favorite. haha

9- one of the parents is a milwaukee fan and you know i LOVE the cardinals, so i put tape on this kids shirt and it said cardinals fan for life. haha

10- one of the kids is moving to hawaii and she asked her dad if i could come too and she got mad cuz he said no. haha

yep- so basically thats what i teach this kids all day. who the coolest is.

ive just been lazy and since RACHEL didnt make these for me....:)

tonite jaana and i made them. we had so much fun making them tho. we were hyper the whole time.

its nice to relax

on saturday it was my dads bday. so we went to the property that my parents just bought. its so pretty out there. its on a lake and has a cave. we made a fire and for lunch had potatoes, chicken, and beans. i had thirds. haha i made fun of sam cuz i ate more than him and hes a tongan (i thought they could eat a lot, guess not...haha) we had s'mores, took naps, bike rides, and some of us went swimming

alright this is my bday post....

i took a couple of days off for my bday... it was fun. but seriously all i did was EAT haha

katie, rachel, and i went to the peel in edwardsville for some pizza. it was SO good. its wood fired pizza and i got some jerk chicken with mangos. then we went to the cup for some cupcakes. i got a peanut butter and chocolate one and a red velvet one.

then that night with some friends at work we went out to eat

then the next day a friend invited me out to lunch with some people because he was leaving. we went to all you can eat sushi. i got 3 of them and sweet potato one was really good.

then that night some of my friends from high school we went to st louis and did some glow in the dark mini golf and then ate at the hard rock cafe. then we went back to my friends house and we played pool and had cake. she made me a chocolate cake that said happy birthday melissa

then on monday. my friend rachel made me this HUGE peanut butter and chocolate cake with five layers. she even made the frostin from scratch.

and some time in between eatin i was able to finish the top of my quilt.....well except for the borders

she loves me...

so i took a couple of days off for my birthday and one of the things i did was go look for a kitten. i found two that i really liked and this is one of them. lil mo mo (short for moshicka)

she already knows her name. haha she likes to follow me and cuddle with me. shes so cute tho and listens to me.

ok so i have been wanting to take a boxing class FOREVER and finally went tonight. it was AMAZING! it was just what i needed. we spent the first part of it working out our stomach and arms- which is good because i really want a six pack. haha and my arms more defined (i dont know if thats spelled right)

when i work out, i usually dont WORK OUT. so this was good that i actually did. maybe i just always needed someone to push me or it felt good because i could keep up with all the boys. either way it felt like i was in shape somehow haha

then the second part was spent boxing (i need to get some gloves) i just borrowed some nasty ones. but im gonna go next week!

it was funny cuz this girl there told me i looked like i could kick some butt. she didnt really say butt, she said a different word. haha but that made me feel good.

p.s. and its fun to work out and look at yourself in the mirror, those of you that really know me, know what i mean. haha

best day eva!

Saturday morning I woke up at 6:30 to hear the tornado sirens goin off. I thought should I get out of bed and go to the bathroom? Then i slept for about ten minutes and then woke up to thunder and lightening and couldnt go back to sleep.

i ate somethin real quick and then i actually exercised. and when i say exercise i mean did a jillian micheals video workout for five minutes till i was tired (i only did the warm up) haha

then i went to the post office to mail a package for my friend in new zealand that wanted some american candy. i paid 30 bucks just to ship it. why do i always ship to people outside the country, its expensive! oh well shes mailin me a new zealand shirt, so will be even. haha

then i went to the BOXING GYM!!!! i have been wanting to go there forever to check it out. im gonna go back on thrusday nite to do this boxing class. i hope i dont die. but i think im actually gonna get a GYM MEMBERSHIP!!! never thought i would say those words. but they got some new management, so its gonna be 24 hour and then i can use the gym and take all the classes i want for 25 dollars. so ill see how i like the class on thrusday.

then after that i got ready for the day and my friend picked me up and we went to grants farm. i have been there before but it had been a while and i really wanted to go to feed the goats. we were also able to feed some camels and llamas.

this goat LOVED me. he would follow me around and he let me pet him. i wish i could take him home.

proof that i didnt do all this by myself. haha

then we went to this sculpture park.

which was so cool. but we were SO tired from grants farm. we could barely walk back to the car. i told genevieve that we needed to stop somewhere to eat (we were kinda in a hurry because our friend had a house warming party at six and it was 5 and we were still in st louis) we said we would do something quick. we were driving and then out of no where the heavens opened and i saw this sign:

it was a miracle. i got SO excited!!! i screamed oh my gosh theres fuddruckers!!! then at the same time genevieve and i both said can we stop there?!!!! we were like two little kids.

when we got inside we got so excited just looking at the menu. and the people in line looked at us like we were crazy. if you have never eaten at one...you need to go!!! it is delicious. i thought there wasnt one in st louis cuz we had tried to go a year or two ago, but it had shut down.

as we were eating i seriously felt like i was the only person in the room with my food. because we didnt talk we just ate. when we sat down there was a table of all of these guys and then when i was done with my food. i noticed that those guys were all gone. i didnt even realize that they had left.

can you tell how HAPPY i am in this picture!!! food does that to me!!!

then we got home and got ready for the our friends housewarmin party and ate indian food, played pool, and bananagrams

so when i got off work and then went to my apt i flipped on tha light, but it wasnt workin. so i tried another one it didnt work. then i opened up my fridge and thought oh crap. i have no power. haha

i went outside and asked my neighbor if they had power and they said no. so i went back inside and called my power company and they told me how 1500 people in the area didnt have power. wow. thats a lot. then i opened up the fridge again to check to see if stuff was still cold (it was- so we didnt lose power too long before i had gotten home.

-now i dont know why sometimes i have so much common sense cuz i say a lot of stupid things sometimes haha (but to call the power company and check the food- gotta say im amazing) haha

but off of the subject can i just say my boyfriend at work is three and he is so smart. he asked me where i lived and i told him. then i asked where he lived and he told me the COMPLETE address along with the city, state, and zip code!!! then he told me his phone number with his area code. i wish i was that smart. he said his mom taught him that for emergencies

ok now back to my story- haha i realized i take too much for granite. i couldnt even eat dinner without the power. everything i was gonna have needed the oven, microwave, or stove. so i went out to eat. (it was delicious. i got curry at this really good thai place)

then i came back home and we still didnt have power. i started reading. and then a light came on. i have most of my power now, except for the outlets in my living room. im gonna get it fixed tomorrow.

well thats all for me- except this all made me feel like i was back in kenya cuz we lost power in the middle of the day and theres nothing to do. haha

moral of the story- dont rely on power and learn your address and phone number when you're three for emergencies

ahhhh

ahhh! i already miss this girl!!! shes so funny (actually im tha funny one) but either way we seriously laughed tha whole time she was here. haha

anyways.... i got tha time off i wanted so i will be goin here later on this year....hawaii and maui! im so excited! its been a while since ive been.

4 reasons you should work with kids...

1.) while playing basketball, they think its fun to throw you the ball, you shoot and then they go and chase it for you. (the more kids the better, cuz then you dont have to wait you just keep shooting different balls)

2.) while walking a kid will run in front of you bend down and start tying your shoe for you (you may not even know it was untied)

3.) while coming inside several of them will bring you flowers (they may be dead or plants- but its the thought right?)

4.) they may tell you they will bring all the money they have at home for you and when you say no its ok. they wonder why you dont want their money. haha

of course brittany said she was davids third fav aunt. number one was amy, then katie, and then brittany. haha

last nite brittany and i came over to rachels for dinner. best quote of last nite is...."i really hope my friend hooks me up with a dude this time!"-unknown

if katie was there last nite for more than ten minutes she might have known who said this! haha but dont worry david and i still do love you, even though your not our favorites :)

umm first can i say i love this pic because brittany and david are both really scared. haha when i handed brittany david she gave me this look like she was gonna kill me. she said she hadnt held a baby since her mission, so i think she forgot what to do. haha

i had a lil surprise party for jana that was movin out to utah for a while for school. it was fun. we talked for a while and then had a dance party and then i showed them some music videos some of my friends and i made in high school
