This weekend I went to one of my fav places!! its weird to think i almost didnt go cuz i got off work so late. I havent been here for 2 years
This weekend we went to NAUVOO for a ysa conference!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was so much fun. We got to Nauvoo bout 10 and went to camp nauvoo, which I didnt realize this till we got there that this is where we were going to be eatin and all that.
some of you may remember this from back in the day from bein in the pageant or goin to watch others. I sure did and when we got there I got all excited and was like a little kid jumpin up and down sayin this is where we stayed for the pageant and to my left this is the hang out spot, these are the cabins we stayed at, this is where we ate all our meals, and etc.
We got to tha dance that nite. music sucked. haha and it smelled like feet. awesome!
( do not let this pic fool you, this is taken from the second dance :) )Then there were some workshops. i really enjoyed them and then we had some free time so we went to cartage. this was def my highlight of the trip. the spirit was so strong there and our guide did a great job and added a lot.
after carthage we went to the blacksmith shop and brick shop and got a brick and a ring. then went to tha fudge shop and got a bunch of chocolated covered pretzels and went to another store and got a shirt.
we also went to the river to take some pics and i got in a wagon and took some pics. haha....remember that sweet pic up on top.
after that we went back to tha hotel to swim ( i really wish the hot tub was open) and then we went to tha dance. this dance was alot betta than the first one!
Then we woke up early to have a photo shoot at the temple.

then on the ride home i sang everyone songs from the city of jospeph cd and added dance moves if i felt they were needed. anyone in the pageant cannot resist singing along to the songs, were cool like that. :)
Man i really wish everything didnt close at five everyday. there was so much more we all wanted to see but didnt have time for. but all in all a GREAT conference. good memories

Seeing those cabins that we stayed in for the pageant sure brought back a lot of memories... swinging into the water from that tree swing, sweltering hot temps, daddy long legs running up and down my dress, and having a crush on Nathan Bohn. Good times to be sure!
ReplyDeleteawww I miss the pageant! Except all I remember about that camp is the nasty bugs in the bathroom and the huge guy that drove the golf cart! haha and the creek with the swing! good times
